Allison Gilbert, MA, LMFT is
the director and founder of Mothers Have Needs Too. She is a
Psychotherapist and a Workshop Leader. Allison is a licensed Marriage
and Family Therapist. She has an MA in Transpersonal Counseling
Psychology from John F Kennedy University and a BA in Psychology from
the University of California at Santa Cruz. She was in private
practice for 10 years before having children, under her maiden name: Allison Pokras. Her practice
focused on eating disorders and she created a workshop called,
"Feeding Your Heart's Content". She also created a workshop that
taught how to use Tarot cards as a symbolic self-help tool. This workshop was called,
"Tarot: The Looking-Glass Teacher". After her children were born,
Allison was a stay-at-home mother for 12 years and volunteered
extensively in her community - including serving as PTA president for
Westlake Elementary School for 2 years. Allison has training in
co-dependency, hypnotherapy, Psych-KTM, EFT (Emotional
Freedom Techniques), coaching with the Enneagram, and Results Coaching
with Neurological Repatterning. She has had one of her articles
published in "Growing Up in Santa Cruz" newspaper.
Allison works with
individuals and couples on relationship issues, women's issues,
self-esteem, co-dependency, postpartum depression, depression/anxiety,
spiritual issues, self-esteem, and parenting.
